Ernie King

Discover Ernie King’s contribution to Vancouver’s Black cultural life through the Harlem Nocturne Cabaret and the Sepia Players Theatre Company.

Ernie King opened the Harlem Nocturne Cabaret at 343 East Hastings in 1957. Leonard Gibson staged floor shows there. King went on to found the Sepia Players Theatre Company in 1969, adding another chapter to the community’s performing arts history.
