AME Fountain Chapel

In 1918, members of the Black community, including Nora Hendrix, raised money to purchase the church at 323 Jackson Avenue. Its congregation took part in community life and campaigns for justice, including the demand for a fair trial for railway porter Fred Deal in 1923.
